Letterhead and envelope printing in Qatar: paper, sizes and tips

What to put on a company letterhead, which paper weight to choose, and which envelope size fits an A4 letter. A short guide for offices in Qatar.

A letterhead is often the first thing a client, a bank or a government office sees from your company. Quotations, contracts, salary certificates and official letters all go out on it. A clean letterhead with a matching envelope makes even a small company look established. Here is what to decide before you print.

What to put on a letterhead

  • Company name and logo. Many companies in Qatar show the name in both English and Arabic.
  • Contact details: P.O. Box, office address, phone, email and website.
  • Registration details such as your Commercial Registration (CR) number. Ask your PRO or accountant which details your company must show on its papers.

Keep the design at the top and bottom edges and leave the middle clear for the letter. Leave some space at the bottom for a signature and your company stamp.

Which paper?

A letterhead is A4 size, 210 × 297 mm. The feel of the paper matters as much as the design.

  • 80 gsm: the same weight as normal copy paper. Fine for everyday invoices and internal letters.
  • 100 to 120 gsm: thicker and smoother in the hand. A good choice for quotations, contracts and letters to clients.
  • Laid or textured paper: has fine lines you can feel. It gives a formal look for management letters and certificates.

Use an A4 size envelope for anything that must not be folded. White envelopes look best for client letters. Brown envelopes are fine for internal papers and deliveries.

Tips before you print

  1. Send the logo as a PDF or AI file. A logo copied from a website or WhatsApp often prints blurred.
  2. Check every detail twice. One wrong digit in a phone number or P.O. Box will be on every sheet.
  3. Keep one look. Use the same colours and layout on your letterhead, envelopes and business cards.
  4. Order letterheads and envelopes together so the colours match.
  5. Ask for a digital copy too. A PDF or Word version of the letterhead is useful for letters you send by email.
